Spending the Night At Grammie's

Saturday we ended up going to dinner at one of our favorite spots: Marri's in Anaheim.  YUM!  Grammie joined us so on the way back, we dropped her off.  Melissa said she wanted to stay.  Amazed, I hoped out of the car, collecting her things cause I surely didn't think she wanted to stay the night.  What?  My little angel who is attached to me at the hip?

Amazingly, she did great.  Went to sleep when Grammie asked. LOVED her new pjs and dolly.  And didn't even wake up (usually she wakes up at 3am and makes a sobbing journey into our bed).

Now if we can just get Blake to wanna spend the night at Grammies.....

Sunsets are better with friends!

Bucket List

We've started a summer bucket list - things to do throughout the summer while Dad is out of school.  I've already posted about one of them here.

A couple of days ago, we pulled out the new Cars Slip N Slide our neighbors gave the kids.  They had fun running through it...or slipping on it, hehe.

And today, I decided to check off another one after daddy took off to referee a basketball game...
Had to start off with the finished product...they are so good....
see the little sneak???
And here is Melissa working with the mixer - she loves it too!

And my bud got in the act sifting flour

Well, can't blog anymore..I got cookies waiting for me!
Have a bucket list?  What have you done this summer?

Dodger Blue

For Father's Day, we got tickets to see the Dodgers - my dad's FAVORITE TEAM!!!
(30 Day Photo Challenge - Something Blue)

Boy did we have a great time...food, food and more food...
Even the kids had a blast.  Brought coloring books, stickers and fun snacks.
Even Melissa got to try her first twinkie!
A memorable Fathers Day!
Unfortunately having a light background messed up my camera that didn't wanna flash...so this is the best pict of the dads...

Exercise? What's that???

So hubs just got finished telling me that he loves messing with a friend of his.  Actually, to be more specific, the Booster Club Assistant President of his softball team.  She ended up texting him how motivated her daughter is and how she's really working hard to complete the summer workout schedule he implemented.  After telling her to get her ASS out there and join her daughter, he told her he had me on a program too.....

WHAT????

Um, that would be incorrect!

HOWEVER,

not such a bad idea!  So he tells me since the kids are napping (or pretending to nap) I can go and run.  Yeah, right!

In actuality, I got my lazy butt off the couch and started to get something on I could run in.  Only to discover yet another excuse...I don't have any "running" shoes.  After a mini discussion on how your feet grow after pregnancy (hubby NOT convinced) he tells me to throw on whatever I can and just do it.  Oh, and that he's not gonna buy me shoes when I'll only run once!  HA!

So out I go, walk across the street to Magnolia High - yes, I have a track that close. It sucks, but it's a track!  I do a few stretches and I'm off.....

Thinking that I'll only do 2 running laps, I keep rethinking it.  Run 1, walk 1, etc.  Well, then I decided to push myself.  I can do it, I've done it before.  Amazingly I ran 4 laps!  AND walked 2!  WOW.  I also stretched after and did 50 sit ups.

Walked back, reworked the spreadsheet hubs had created for the softball team and added elliptical to mine.

The Plan:
So My plan is kinda like his!  Run a min of a mile 3xs a week.  After the 1st two weeks, I increase the distance of 1 lap a week.  Then 2 times a week I need to get my but on my "dust collector", my elliptical.  Starting off the 1st 2 weeks I have to do 30 min and will gradually increase it too.

The 1st Problem:  CRAPPY SHOES!
Hubs and I have a bet.  If I get through 12 weeks, I get a new fancy pair of running shoes.

The 2nd Problem: Ingrown Toenails :(
I'm getting my in-growns cut out on Monday - puts a kink in my plan.  However, since I'm betting I'm not gonna be able to walk for the next 2-3 days cause I'm so sore from pushing myself on day 1 - today, maybe won't be such a problem after all?

Benefits if I keep this up:
* LOSING WEIGHT - Finally!!!
* Quiet time!  How come I never thought of this?  An hour of quiet time, me, sun, time to unwind and clear my head - it was REALLY NICE!
* Got a wedding coming up in August - I could drop a couple of dress sizes by then, right?
* If I drop a couple of sizes - time for a shopping spree - my favorite!!! Hubs doesn't know that yet :) , but once I start dropping, I'm sure he'll get on board!
* Oh, and the best one - pie in HIS face!  I'm gonna do it this time, I swear!  I hate being FAT!!!

So, whose with me?????

Childhood Memory

I used to LOVE Strawberry Shortcake!

So much so, that I wore this dress, had a canopy bed with all Strawberry Shortcake bedding, matching canopy top curtains and all the dolls.

And I'm so excited that they are back and at Toys R Us so Melissa will get her very own set!
