Spending the Night At Grammie's

Saturday we ended up going to dinner at one of our favorite spots: Marri's in Anaheim.  YUM!  Grammie joined us so on the way back, we dropped her off.  Melissa said she wanted to stay.  Amazed, I hoped out of the car, collecting her things cause I surely didn't think she wanted to stay the night.  What?  My little angel who is attached to me at the hip?

Amazingly, she did great.  Went to sleep when Grammie asked. LOVED her new pjs and dolly.  And didn't even wake up (usually she wakes up at 3am and makes a sobbing journey into our bed).

Now if we can just get Blake to wanna spend the night at Grammies.....

Sunsets are better with friends!

Bucket List

We've started a summer bucket list - things to do throughout the summer while Dad is out of school.  I've already posted about one of them here.

A couple of days ago, we pulled out the new Cars Slip N Slide our neighbors gave the kids.  They had fun running through it...or slipping on it, hehe.

And today, I decided to check off another one after daddy took off to referee a basketball game...
Had to start off with the finished product...they are so good....
see the little sneak???
And here is Melissa working with the mixer - she loves it too!

And my bud got in the act sifting flour

Well, can't blog anymore..I got cookies waiting for me!
Have a bucket list?  What have you done this summer?

Dodger Blue

For Father's Day, we got tickets to see the Dodgers - my dad's FAVORITE TEAM!!!
(30 Day Photo Challenge - Something Blue)

Boy did we have a great time...food, food and more food...
Even the kids had a blast.  Brought coloring books, stickers and fun snacks.
Even Melissa got to try her first twinkie!
A memorable Fathers Day!
Unfortunately having a light background messed up my camera that didn't wanna flash...so this is the best pict of the dads...

Exercise? What's that???

So hubs just got finished telling me that he loves messing with a friend of his.  Actually, to be more specific, the Booster Club Assistant President of his softball team.  She ended up texting him how motivated her daughter is and how she's really working hard to complete the summer workout schedule he implemented.  After telling her to get her ASS out there and join her daughter, he told her he had me on a program too.....

WHAT????

Um, that would be incorrect!

HOWEVER,

not such a bad idea!  So he tells me since the kids are napping (or pretending to nap) I can go and run.  Yeah, right!

In actuality, I got my lazy butt off the couch and started to get something on I could run in.  Only to discover yet another excuse...I don't have any "running" shoes.  After a mini discussion on how your feet grow after pregnancy (hubby NOT convinced) he tells me to throw on whatever I can and just do it.  Oh, and that he's not gonna buy me shoes when I'll only run once!  HA!

So out I go, walk across the street to Magnolia High - yes, I have a track that close. It sucks, but it's a track!  I do a few stretches and I'm off.....

Thinking that I'll only do 2 running laps, I keep rethinking it.  Run 1, walk 1, etc.  Well, then I decided to push myself.  I can do it, I've done it before.  Amazingly I ran 4 laps!  AND walked 2!  WOW.  I also stretched after and did 50 sit ups.

Walked back, reworked the spreadsheet hubs had created for the softball team and added elliptical to mine.

The Plan:
So My plan is kinda like his!  Run a min of a mile 3xs a week.  After the 1st two weeks, I increase the distance of 1 lap a week.  Then 2 times a week I need to get my but on my "dust collector", my elliptical.  Starting off the 1st 2 weeks I have to do 30 min and will gradually increase it too.

The 1st Problem:  CRAPPY SHOES!
Hubs and I have a bet.  If I get through 12 weeks, I get a new fancy pair of running shoes.

The 2nd Problem: Ingrown Toenails :(
I'm getting my in-growns cut out on Monday - puts a kink in my plan.  However, since I'm betting I'm not gonna be able to walk for the next 2-3 days cause I'm so sore from pushing myself on day 1 - today, maybe won't be such a problem after all?

Benefits if I keep this up:
* LOSING WEIGHT - Finally!!!
* Quiet time!  How come I never thought of this?  An hour of quiet time, me, sun, time to unwind and clear my head - it was REALLY NICE!
* Got a wedding coming up in August - I could drop a couple of dress sizes by then, right?
* If I drop a couple of sizes - time for a shopping spree - my favorite!!! Hubs doesn't know that yet :) , but once I start dropping, I'm sure he'll get on board!
* Oh, and the best one - pie in HIS face!  I'm gonna do it this time, I swear!  I hate being FAT!!!

So, whose with me?????

Childhood Memory

I used to LOVE Strawberry Shortcake!

So much so, that I wore this dress, had a canopy bed with all Strawberry Shortcake bedding, matching canopy top curtains and all the dolls.

And I'm so excited that they are back and at Toys R Us so Melissa will get her very own set!

Fruit

This is a picture of a crazy fruit tree in my MIL's back yard.  It's a mix of oranges and grape fruit.  The oranges are absolutely delish!  However, the grapefruit is the most sour ever - most can't stand the flavor.  And the smell - eeeek!

Most of them are larger than a grapefruit.  This one I was comparing to a lemon.  And when they're fully ripe, they are yellow like the lemon!

Sucked In...Again!!!

Really, WHY, I keep asking myself.  Why do I do this to myself.  Why do I click on that "Cityville" button and get sucked in again.  I have tons of reading to do (loving my book), laundry, bathrooms, even shows to watch on the dvr.  But I sit here for the last half hour and get sucked into my highly annoying "Cityville" game on facebook.  So much so, I have another fb screen name and use my MIL's account to send myself gifts AND harvest my buildings cause I don't have enough energy.  AHHHH!

Okay, if you see those buttons on my profile or in your news feed, you can click on the right side of it and hide it - sorry, I've been feeling guilty that I've been hogging up your news feed with it...Hopefully I will kick this stupid obsession soon....but either way, I'm hoping you've just gotten rid of those posts...I know I've done it before :)

Palm Desert with a "Low Angle"

WOW, where do I begin?

First off, I have to say I LOVE my hubby.  I know how hard he works at school (like during his current swim unit - ha) and how dedicated he is to his girls and softball.  All of it, to really enjoy his family and the ability to keep me home, caring for our precious children.

That being said, I know he KNOWS I work hard at home - sometimes walking into a crazy house with a frazzled Mama.  But does he REALLY understand what my days entail?

Well, I finally got the chance to put that to the test.  I was invited by one of my BFF's to Palm Dessert for a relaxing weekend of fun, sun, bubba's FULL of fruity cocktails and just great girly time.  YES, I wanna go!!!!  BUT, hubs originally didn't fully like the idea.  "Be away from your kids? They're so little".  Eventually he gave in when I posed a Palm Desert vs. Vegas weekend - hehe.

Mother-In-Law felt this was just a fabulous idea.  "I'll get off work a little early on Friday so you can head out early!"  SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

11:00am Friday, I was on the road.  Had to stop off for a couple of things I needed to do - shopping without the kids for a quick birthday present- SCORE!  Pick up Rubios for lunch/car ride - RIGHT ON!!!  Pop in some of my favorite 80's cds and I was on my way.

Quick detour however!!!!  Needed to throw away my trash from lunch AND had to pee, so what better stop?  CABAZON!!!!!!!!!  Haha.  Didn't really see anything I liked until I hit the gymboree outlet so I picked up a few things for my little princess and back on the road.....

Pulling up to the Monterey Country Club around 2:45, I was ready to get my sun'in on!  Luckily the girls had stopped back in the condo to refill their "Bubbas" and a little potty business and back out to the pool.

Luckily I was in time to get a little of the first bottle!  hehe

Headed out to the pool and this was the view....

Have you ever met "Bubba".  OMG, the best drink mug ever.  Keeps your drink/cocktails cold AND holds TONS!!!!  Come to find out, they're available at Walmart.  Disclaimer: little flower straw thingy not included, but compliments of my new friends Michelle & Lisa of  Perfect Pair!  LOL.

We enjoyed ourselves so much at the pool - we drank, chatted, laughed it up till the sun started going down behind some trees. OMG, it was 8:00pm.  And we hadn't even had dinner yet.  Back to the condo where Ms. Dee Dee (BFF) had already had filets and chicken breasts marinating.  Fabulous dinner with hilarious game night, we ended up snuggled in by 1am.

Sleep in? What's that?  Up by around 7:30am, we all dragged out of bed headed for coffee - or Monster in Tisha's case :)  Then off to the pool with a changing of the guard so to speak.  Two girls off on family vacations while one joined us after her fabulous show

Another day of relaxation in the sun (and a little redness)....
(30 day picture challenge)
low angle
we ended heading back to the condo to primp and get ready for a fabulous dinner and movie "Bridesmaids" at The River where my other BFF - Cara Sue - joined us! Finishing off the night, we returned back to the condo for a little "Pretty In Pink".

Let me just say, it was what the doc ordered!  Relaxation, fun with girlfriends and coming home to a loving (TIRED) husband and munchkins who missed their mommy as much as I missed them.  What an awesome weekend!  Oh, and the next one is already planned!!!!  : )

Green

It's always fun playing with my lovable pup in the front yard.  In snaping a couple of good shots of her, I remembered that it was time to take a "green" picture.  And we absolutely ADORE our yard.  It is really a great place to hang, play, read a book, whatever.

Hubby has been working on it almost everyday to get it looking so spectacular.

I remember a time when he first moved in, his grandfather owned the place and he was just going to rent.  He didn't care about the yard.  "Fix it up?  Why would I", he would always tell me when I suggested we work on the house.  The yard, he never even watered it.  There were these HUGE trees we hated, leaves and needles everywhere!!!  Well, its been 7 or so years and now so much has changed.  He LOVES his yard now!!!

Clouds

What a beautiful day it is outside today.  The kids and I spent a little time just hanging out.  Secretly, I wanted them to get out as much energy so they would nap!!!  Need Mommy Quiet Time NOW!  hehe

What I wore

So this was one of those "BLAH" days that I really didn't feel like getting dressed, even though we had things to do.  When Aunt Flo comes around, nothing really gets done!

Seriously, need to jump back on the diet bandwagon.
Another reason I DISLIKE pictures of myself!

Self Portrait

I am really not one to enjoy having pictures taken.  Reason #1 why I'm ALWAYS behind the camera.  However, for this challenge, I will try to go along with the daily requests....

now on with the show....

30 Day Photo Challenge

Well, it's time for a new start.  And what a better way to start a new blog than with a 30 day photo challenge????  Thanks to Christine, I am now sucked in!
